  • Winemaker: Caroline Cassot, representing the 5th generation of the Cassot family, oversees vineyard management and winemaking, following the legacy of her father Michel Cassot.
  • Farming: Lutte raisonnée, with grass planted every third row to stimulate biodiversity. Canopy management and green harvest are performed as necessary.
  • Variety: 90% old-vine Malbec, 10% Tannat.
  • Terroir: The estate covers 53 hectares of vines averaging 30 years old, planted on gentle slopes with clay/gravel/sand soils on higher terraces and clay-limestone soils on other parcels. South-oriented slopes provide excellent drainage.
  • Vinification: Grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3-4 weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 additional months in oak barrels, with a fifth of the barrels being new each year.
  • Aging: 12 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months in oak barrels (20% new each year).
  • Tasting Note: Deep purple color with lots of vanilla on the nose, supporting substantial dark fruit. The medium-to-full body offers ripe blackberry fruit on the palate with a hint of licorice. Fine tannins are extremely well integrated on the finish.
