Künstler 'Hochheimer Domdechaney' Riesling Trocken Erste Lage, Rheingau 2018
Weingut Künstler has a history dating back to 1648. Gunter Künstler hails from the famous village of Hochheim am Main; in 17th century Britain the term ‘Hock’ was used to describe all Rhinegau wines. His family founded a winery in what is now the Czech Republic in the seventeenth century but were expelled from the country, as German speakers, after the Second World War and had to rebuild from scratch in Hochheim. The Rheingau winery was founded by Gunter’s father Franz in 1965. Gunter took over in 1992 and two years later they were admitted to the VDP group of top producers.
