Varieties: 100% Cabernet Franc
Terroir: It is the signature wine of Domaine Grosbois, which comes from twelve blocks, untouched since the the 15th Century. On a deposit of millarge limestone-clay, the vines surround the domaine atop this yellow tuffeau (local yellow limestone) rock that is a characteristic of Chinon as well as of the two islets in the valley, which are composed of gravel limestone.
Vinification: Natural fermentation. All concrete.
Tasting notes: An ample wine with the return of the grape pulp and freshness of lively fruit. The aromas of liquorice which develop through ageing. A wine to share with friends around a good barbecue. Nose: A generous explosion of wild strawberries and blackberries.
