The famile Gros has been producing wine in Vosne-Romaneé for over 160 years, but in 1963, the domaine was split amongst family member into 4 estates. Gros Frere et Soeur is run by Bernard Gros, whose holdings come from his uncle and aunt, Gustave and Colette Gros.
- Winemaker: Bernard & Vincent Gros
- Farming: Organic (certified)
- Variety: Pinot Noir
- Terroir: Coming from a mix of parcels in Vosne-Romanee
- Vinification: 100% destemmed, then cool pre-fermentation maceration. The wines are vinified in cement vats and are then matured in oak casks, partial new oak.
- Tasting Note: A very classic and opulent entry level Burgundy, this Pinot Noir has dense aromas of black cherry, menthol, tilled earth, and hints of toasty vanilla. Pair it was a rich meat dish, like Beef Bourguignon or roasted duck. 20-30 minutes of decanting will help it to open up, but it can also be held for 5-10 years.
