- Terroir: Their 4ha parcel (called Rigaccini Secondo) is in the higher elevation (@400m) classico zone around the town of Montalcino. The Padelletti’s have been farming grapes here since 1570. The soil here is medium-textured loam, rich in sandstone and alberese limestone with some galestro marl. The Sangiovese for their Riserva bottling come from their oldest vines, 50+ years old.
- Vinification: Five weeks of skin maceration, and fermentation in small cement tanks with indigenous yeasts.
- Aging: Neutral large Slavonian Botti for 3 years.
